Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth is a 3DS RPG that combines the worlds of Persona 3, 4, and 5 together and has the characters from all three games explore movie-themed dungeons. It released in Japan last November and is following that up with a western release this June, making Persona Q2 one of the last notable games currently slated to come to 3DS. As we are under three months away from its launch, Atlus is beginning to show more about the game, doing so today by releasing a story trailer.
The main focus of this video is to show how the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5, the Investigation Team from Persona 4, and S.E.E.S. from Persona 3 all get dragged into this weird world of dungeons based on film genres. Most of the trailer is up of animated and in-game cutscenes, though we do see a bit of gameplay towards the end.
This trailer is also the first time we are hearing the Japanese voice actors in action during cutscenes in the western version of Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. Shortly after the game was revealed, Atlus confirmed that this game would only featuring English subtitles, not voiceover, to IGN. While this is a somewhat different approach from Atlus for the western release of a Persona game than we have seen in past, many players opt to use Japanese voices anyways so it isn’t too much of a loss.
You can check out the story trailer for yourself below. Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth will be launching exclusively for 3DS in North America and Europe on June 4, 2019. Those of you who are interested in the game can also pre-order it on Amazon.
