Today, Atlus updated the official site for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, with new screenshots and information regarding the game.
First off, we take a look at the game’s item shop, which is held by Velvet Room attendant Theodore from Persona 3 Portable. His appearance and the items sold all fit the game’s cinematic atmosphere, as recovery items include popcorns, sodas, and potato chips. Traditional items of the Persona series like the dungeon exit item Goho-M are present too. The maximum amount of items you can carry is limited, so you can store items at the shop as well. Just like the Etrian Odyssey series, selling materials found in dungeons by defeating Shadows will unlock new equipment.
Next are the game’s StreetPass functions, which are handled by Persona 4 Golden’s Marie. Using StreetPass, Personas you previously marked as tradable will be automatically traded when another 3DS is near. Each Persona in your compendium also has a QR code you can use to directly trade it with friends. In order to prevent players from abusing this feature, if someone sends you a Persona of a higher level than the highest level among your party members, the persona will be added to your compendium, but you won’t be able to summon it.
You can check the new screenshots below. Atlus regularly introduces the game’s characters with trailers. Recent ones include Persona 4‘s Kanji Tatsumi, Persona 5‘s Yusuke Kitagawa, and Persona 5‘s villain Kamoshida and his superhero movie themed dungeon. A longer trailer introducing the game’s story was released as well. You can also check the game’s opening and the trailers for each of the Persona main heroes.
Persona Q2 will release for 3DS on November 29th in Japan. Atlus hasn’t announced a western release yet.
