Persona 5 Strikers is a follow up to Atlus’ mega-hit Persona 5. The game releases on February 20, leaving fans of the original game feeling very excited. One of the big questions on everybody’s lips after the first game is surrounding Persona 5 Strikers romance options and potential confidants. They were huge features in the original games but do they return in this year’s follow up?
Persona 5 social-links
Persona 5 had a huge range of romance options and confidants. Joker could date any one of the Phantom Thieves, including Ann, Makoto and Futaba, as well as a variety of characters from around Tokyo. These included Joker’s teacher, Sadayo Kawakami, his doctor, Tae Takemi, and a shogi champion, Hifumi Togo.
The full list of possible romance partners is as follows: Phantom Thieves – Ann Takamaki, Makoto Niijima, Futaba Sakura, Haru Okumura, Kasumi Yoshizawa (Persona 5 Royal only). Other Characters – Tae Takemi, Sadayo Kawakami, Hifumi Togo, Chihaya Mifune, Ichiko Ohya.
Persona 5 Strikers Romance options and confidants
Unfortunately, for fans of the original romance options and social links in Persona 5, I have bad news. The follow-up, Persona 5 Strikers does away with these options. While players can spend time with select characters, there are no options to romance them or to build up relationships with them to help develop skills and abilities. While this will be a shame for many players, thankfully, it doesn’t impact the game too heavily.
Persona 5 Strikers DualShockers Review
We reviewed the game ahead of its launch next month and scored it an amazing 9/10 in our official Persona 5 Strikers Review. Despite some major gameplay changes, that make it a little closer in style to the Dynasty Warriors games, we said “[Persona 5 Strikers is] much closer to a tried and true Persona game than I ever would have expected.”
