One of the most anticipated game announcements is finally out in the wild. Persona 5 Scramble or in the west, Persona 5 Strikers is a sequel to the beloved 2017 JRPG but is taking shape in a completely new genre. The action RPG title was announced back in 2019 being developed by Koei Tecmo who is notorious for creating Dynasty Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors, and the most recent Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

The announcement trailer was leaked after someone shared the video link on Twitter which was unlisted on Atlus West’s official YouTube channel. The video has since been removed.
Persona 5 Scramble released in Japan on February 20th earlier this year and fans have been clamoring for its western localization. In Japan, P5S released on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and that will be the same case for the west along with an additional release on PC via Steam. SEGA and Atlus recently brought Persona 4 Golden to PC and said that they plan on releasing more Atlus titles of both past and future on new platforms moving forward after Golden’s success. This might be a sign proving that to be the case.
Persona 5 Strikers is set to release on February 23, 2021. The game is not currently available for pre-order, but with the leak, it is possible that we will get the official announcement from Atlus at any time.
You can read much more details on Persona 5 Strikers with our coverage of the Japanese pre-release promotion of the game. The most important points to note are that Persona 5 Strikers is a true sequel to Persona 5, but not to Persona 5 Royal. And that while it’s developed by Omega Force, it’s not a Musou game and closer to a traditional Action RPG.
