Players eager to relive the glory days of the original Xbox on Xbox One won’t have to wait much longer. Today Microsoft officially announced that certain original Xbox titles will finally become backward compatible on Xbox One tomorrow, October 24, 2017.
Unfortunately, only thirteen Xbox titles will be available at launch, unlike the 104 Xbox 360 titles that were released when the feature launched back in 2015. All that aside, the titles we are getting are pretty substantial. One highlight includes Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which launched in 2003 to critical acclaim. Another highlight is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which is a game that many people would love to see a sequel to even to this day. You can check out the full list of titles below:
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Ninja Gaiden Black
- Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
- Fuzion Frenzy
- Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
- Psychonauts
- Dead to Rights
- Black
- Grabbed by the Ghoulies
- Sid Meier’s Pirates!
- Red Faction II
- BloodRayne 2
- The King of Fighters Neowave
More games will, of course, be added over the next several months. Each game’s resolution will be upgraded to 1080p and will include an assortment of other improvements, like faster loading times, and a higher frame rate. If you don’t already own the above titles, no need to worry as they will be available from the Xbox Store for $9.99.
Recently, Microsoft added all three Fable games to the backward compatibility list, which includes over 400 titles as of the time of this writing.
