It seems another title has been affected by Western censorship practices; this time it’s Bandai Namco’s recently releasesd One Piece: World Seeker for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The content in question is the Hot Springs mission titled “The Phantom Remedy,” which was an early purchase bonus in Japan and greater Asia and was also made available to Europe through Bandai Namco’s EP!C Rewards Club. However, said mission is missing from the North American release of the title and until now, there was no word on its release.
According to Twinfinite, Bandai Namco America recently confirmed that the DLC will not be released in North America, although no further details or explanation has been given as to why the mission was cut. It seems that those wanting to play the “The Phantom Remedy” will have to import One Piece: World Seeker from either Europe or Japan.
The game’s other DLC pack will still be released sometime in summer of this year. No other information on this first pack or any other DLC in the future has been revealed at this time.
There has been a trend of censorship in Western released titles, such as Devil May Cry 5, Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, and the cancellation of PQube’s Omega Labyrinth Z. However, XSEED’s Fate/EXTELLA LINK managed to avoid losing any content in its own release.
If you’re curious as to what the mission looks like, there’s a teaser of it in the official Japanese launch trailer below.
