That’s definitely quite a milestone for a new IP, but it isn’t surprising considering the quality of the game and the buzz it generated, not to mention the extensive post-launch support granted by Koei Tecmo, that delivered plenty of story-driven DLC packages, on top of countless free updates providing new modes, features, and polish over time.
If you’re curious about what we thought of the game, you can read our verdict in our review (spoiler: it’s very positive)
Back in March 2017, we learned that NiOh is the most successful Koei Tecmo game in the west ever, and back then it was just at one million units.
The game is currently available for PS4 and PC. If you still haven’t grabbed a copy, you can do so on Amazon.
