By now, anyone who follows Nintendo’s dedicated YouTube account is aware of Nintendo Minute — the half-editorial, half-promotional broadcasts by community manager Kit and Krysta covering all things Nintendo. This week, the pair went above and beyond, traveling to Japan mid-cherry blossom season to give a (very) brief look at Nintendo’s headquarters in Kyoto.
Seen in the video below, the actual “visit” of Nintendo’s HQ was a mere fraction of the trip. The pair start off seemingly on the West Coast, showing their trip to the airport and on the airplane — all playing their notably portable Nintendo Switch. Nearly three minutes into the video, Kit and Krysta enter Japan greeted by a mass of Nintendo welcome signs and paraphernalia in Kyoto’s airport.
After taking the train for a bit, Kit and Krysta end up at Nintendo’s Headquarters — but not too much is shown. Essentially, the video shows off the entrance lobby, which is pristine (if not sterile looking). From here, the duo explores a Tatami Room — i.e., a room that has wall-to-wall tatami mats — similar to some Nintendo promotional videos. After playing a few pick-up Nintendo Switch games, Kit and Krysta enjoy Ramen from the cafeteria, show the scenic view, and point out where game development takes place.
The actual tour of the Nintendo HQ wraps up roughly nine minutes in, with the rest of the video exploring the sights and sounds of Kyoto and some fun swag they managed to grab in Japan. While it is by no means the most-extensive look into the Nintendo headquarters, those limited in their travel plans may still want to take a sneak peak in the video below. And if you still don’t have a Switch and want to live up to being just like Kit and Krysta, you can purchase your unit on Amazon.
