Given the circumstances of the world right now in the developing coronavirus pandemic, the world of gaming has provided a necessary outlet for escapism and some relief from what the world is going through right now. Thankfully, Nintendo seems to be delivering not only with the promise of Animal Crossing: New Horizons later this week, but with a newly-announced Indie World broadcast coming tomorrow.
Nintendo has announced that a new Indie World Showcase will be taking place on March 17, 2020 at 10am PT/1pm ET, just happening to coincide with St. Patrick’s Day. Perhaps we’ll get some kind of leprechaun-themed announcement on the broadcast? Maybe a Guinness crossover?
According to Nintendo, the presentation will run for about 20 minutes and will highlight the upcoming slate of indie games for Nintendo Switch that will (presumably) come to the system later this year and possibly beyond.
Tune in tomorrow, March 17 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET for a new #IndieWorld Showcase livestream feat. roughly 20 minutes of info on indie games coming to #NintendoSwitch!https://t.co/N3Dhh3i7vy pic.twitter.com/dkhvGNnz0Z

Alongside its usual Nintendo Direct broadcasts, which the company most recently held last month for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, its Indie World broadcasts have helped to specifically highlight Nintendo’s support for indie games on its platforms. The most recent Indie World presentation from Nintendo took place last December, with some of the biggest announcements including the reveal of Axiom Verge 2, Sports Story (a sequel to the Switch indie hit Golf Story), and showcases for upcoming titles like Boyfriend Dungeon and SkateBIRD.
While at the moment we don’t exactly know what Nintendo is planning to reveal at tomorrow’s Indie World presentation, thankfully we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out more. Personally, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for more information on some upcoming indies like Hollow Knight: Silksong and Super Meat Boy Forever.
