It’s been an interesting week in the gaming chair market. First Logitech unveiled the new a new $1500 chair in collaboration with Herman Miller and now Nintendo and X Rocker have teamed up to create a striking line of more modestly priced seats just in time for Super Mario’s 35th anniversary.
The chairs, aimed at a much younger audience than Logitech’s entry, are in the design of the the “X Rocker Video Rocker” which is quoted as being ” X Rocker’s #1 selling chair for young gamers”. This range usually retails at around £44.99 in the UK. The chairs are designed to be much closer to the ground than a traditional office chair and are in a curved shape.

The X Rocker announcement states this chair will be available in three unique designs depending on which of the retail partners it is purchased from.
Of the collaboration, X Rocker Managing Director Gary Shaw said:

The characters of Super Mario are a perfect pairing with our market leading junior gaming rockers. These collections are just the start and we have even more to come. This year, more so than any, we all need reasons to smile and no-one does this better than Mario and his friends”.
The Nintendo and X Rocker collaborations launch on August 1. However it currently looks limited to UK and EU. The chairs will be available from retailers Argos and Smyths and for distribution from Exertis.
