Yesterday, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Flavourworks announced Erica, a live-action experience that can be played on PS4 while controlling the action with your smartphone, like all the newly-introduced PlayLink games.
Basically, it’s a sort of interactive movie, and today DualShockers spoke with Creative Director Jack Attridge, who mentioned that what the team felt was right in terms of duration for one play-through is similar to a feature film.
This means that it’ll be 90 minutes to two hours, which feels a “really nice balance” for the development team.
That being said, the game is very replayable, and when you play it again and make different choices, you’ll see a different story. More precisely it’s the same story, but you’ll understand it in a different way. According to Attridge this is a “really powerful way to tell a story.” Of course, there are also different endings.
Incidentally, while controlling the game with your smartphone is certainly the most intuitive way, you can also play with a DualShock 4 if you so wish.
