Just last week, Torchlight 3 developers Echtra Games pulled back the curtain on the new forts they’re bringing to the Torchlight universe. These player bases are fully customizable and offer fun ways for players to interact with other adventurers. Today, the team dropped a new trailer that gives a better idea of what to expect in terms of customization available. There’s also a super cute pup. Unfortunately, it was not made clear if you can pet the dog. Give it a watch below.
As we saw last week, customization is the focus of Torchlight 3 forts. The new trailer shows off a ton of options. But you have to assume this is only the tip of the iceberg. Given that most decorations will be rewarded through progression, it makes sense for Echtra to hold a fair bit of the really cool stuff back. However, they did show off a bunch of fun-looking options you’ll have at your fingertips.
What isn’t really shown off in the video are the interactions your buildings can have with other players. Obviously, making your fort look pretty is going to be the priority, but having some function is important to. Echtra’s post from last week gave us a few tidbits of info and I was hoping this would give us even more. That said, they did let us see that adorable dog, so all is forgiven.
Torchlight 3 is set to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in 2020. As we move toward release, we should continue to get news drops like these. Hopefully, future ones do more to iron out what you can actually do with your fort outside of decorating.
