Last month, Saber Interactive announced a new installment in the NBA Playgrounds was in the works, and after almost a month since the initial announcement, the American game developer has unveiled the title’s official release date.
According to the press release, NBA Playgrounds 2 will launch on May 22 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One for $19.99. A sequel to the 2017 title NBA Playgrounds, the upcoming entry in the series is developed by Saber Interactive and published by Mad Dog Games. In NBA Playgrounds 2, and will continue to build on the foundation that was established nearly a year ago.
Several new additions in NBA Playgrounds 2 include Playgrounds Championship mode including a worldwide league ranking system that’s divided into multiple single-player and co-op ladders for players to partake in. If we are talking regarding single-player content, NBA Playgrounds 2 will offer a Season mode, where players can play with their favorite team and embark on an adventure to win the championship.
Circling over to multiplayer content, the upcoming basketball title will include modifications for matchmaking as well as the option for players to play in four-player online matches. Other noteworthy (albeit minor) features coming in the sequel include new power-ups, tweaks to the AI, refined models, and animations, as well as a roster of over 200 famous NBA players, current and retired.
