Boxing Apocalypse, a boxing VR experience, will be making its way onto PlayStation VR worldwide this December, and it is created by Mario Simone of Gotham City Films. The game makes it way onto shelves on November 20, 2018 in North America and December 11, 2018 for the rest of the world.
The game is already out on Steam for those with an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, and costs $19.99. It will cost the same amount when it releases on the PlayStation Store later this year.
“Boxing Apocalypse integrates a unique and precise fight system which is very responsive and intuitive, with energy shields for quick counter combos, weapons for deadly kills, and customizable armor and gauntlet upgrades to create your own unique warrior.”
There is a campaign mode which involves battling through stages of an alien horde, but the multiplayer mode might be more appealing to players. “Battle your friends in your own fight club tournaments and feel the adrenaline rush of this fast-paced combat system.”
According to its press release, this is the “first VR game to have built a seamless PVP mode where you can battle players online in this intuitive fighting style.” The game also keeps track of your win and loss records, so you can be extra competitive.
You can view the trailer for the game below, and while it isn’t the most visually stimulating game, it does appear to be fun in gameplay terms because… let’s be honest, who doesn’t wanna box their PlayStation friends online in VR?
