Moving Out launched last year from developers DevM Games and SMG Studio. The game was published by Team17 and draws inspiration from the likes of Overcooked. It sees players team up to, as you’d expect, move out. In a frantic environment, players have to transport furniture out of a house and into a removal van within a set time limit, with chaos ensuing.
Now, Team17 has confirmed a new, free update for the title, that completely flips the game on its head. The update is titled “Moving In” and sees rolls reversed as players take items from the van and into a new house. In a press release, Team17 said:
The ‘Moving In’ update is available in 12 of the game’s original levels and gives players the new task of unpacking the van and placing items into their new homes; it also adds a new ‘auto snap’ option to the assist mode to help players position items exactly where they’re needed.
They also share that the update includes “the option for players to customise their character’s shirts, and debuts two brand-new dance moves – The Prospector and Loveshack!”
On release, the game was praised for its accessibility settings with the game including, but not being limited to, an assist mode, reduced difficulty mode and a range of options that help to adjust the text. SMG Studio CEO, Ashley Ringrose, said in an interview that “The goal for us is to allow anyone, of any ability, to play and enjoy Moving Out.”
Moving Out is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X with the new content arriving soon on consoles and PC for free.
