In a wonderfully short and bloody new video from NetherRealm, the Mortal Kombat 11 developers reveal some of their favorite fatalities from the upcoming gory fighting game. There are some great choices from the staff including Scorpion tearing through the opponent’s midsection and then spearing their mouth, Skarlet summoning her opponent’s blood and then stabbing them with it, and Geras literally ripping the entire front half of his opponent right off.
The overall staff consensus, however, is clearly Johnny Cage’s fatality where he rips his foe in half and starts up an impromptu ventriloquism performance with the upper half. I definitely understand that choice — it has everything you could want. It’s gory, it’s hilarious, and it fits perfectly with Cage’s jerk personality.
It’s fun to see that the developers themselves are having a ton of fun with Mortal Kombat 11, and you can witness that passion for the game laid out in both the general gameplay and its trademark Fatality system. The latest fighter to be revealed for the game is Kitana, who finally was featured in a gameplay trailer after a TV spot for the game confirmed her inclusion.
The recently leaked trophy list seems to confirmed the final roster for the game. Meanwhile the download file size for the Nintendo Switch version has also been revealed, with the title most likely require a day one patch for the system.
