Today Capcom released another sizable batch of PS4 gameplay of its upcoming mainline Monster Hunter game Monster Hunter World.
The gameplay is narrated by European Brand Manager Brian Ayers, who does a really good job at setting the atmosphere thanks to his booming voice. At the controls is Game Director Yuya Tokuda.
This time around we get to see another area of the game, named Rotten Vale. As the name implies, the place’s peculiarity is the high amount of rotting carcasses of monsters, that create a very peculiar ecology.
The first monster we meet is Rodabaan, followed by the predator Odogaron, which, while smaller, is actually at the top of the food chain. The video promptly demonstrates that by showing the two fighting against each other.
After that, the player lures the Odogaron into a lair of Great Girros by using the Challenge Mantle, that can taunt a monster to follow you with its shiny scales.
As things get rather messy, we also get a chance to take a look at some sword and shield gameplay. Since it isn’t as flashy as other styles, we don’t get to see it often.
You can check the video out below. If you want to see more of Monster Hunter World, you can enjoy another large batch of gameplay showing the Coral Highlands, some commercials from this morning, the latest trailer featuring the other elder dragons and more, a funny commercial from Sony, and all the news revealed two weeks ago (including those exclusively for Japan).
The game will release worldwide on January 26th, for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC version coming this fall. If you can’t wait, you can also play a new open beta on PS4 starting on January 19th.
