Today the Japanese arm of Capcom released a batch of details and screenshots about the day one patch that will be released for Monster Hunter World.
The patch is numbered 1.01 and will take approximately 815 megabytes of your bandwidth for all regions. As an important note, online gameplay and the use of any DLC will be unavailable until this patch is applied.
First of all, we get the implementation of some features, including the aforementioned multiplayer, event quests, and all online systems including chat. Additional content will be added to the player house’s room service.
A gallery feature will allow players to watch unlocked event scenes every time they want. Depending on the save data used, the appearance of the player character in the cutscenes will change.
The mascot Poogie will be added. You can find him in the survey base by progressing in the story. You can deepen your friendship with him by petting him, and bringing him to various places there will be “nice results.”
Several languages will be added on top of Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish that are included in all versions. The Asian release will get Traditional Chinese and Korean, the North American version will have Brazilian Portuguese added, and the European version will get Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Polish, and Arabic.
On top of that, there are also the usual “various fixes.”
The press release also confirms that Capcom plans to add several new elements in the future with free updates. After release, they will periodically deliver downloadable content to allow players to enjoy the game for a long time. The first will be the already announced addition of Deviljho, and more information will come in the future.
On top of that, those able to connect online will be able to enjoy various event quests planned by Capcom, and special collaborations that will provide even more fun beyond release. More free downloadable content also includes additional gestures.
Paid DLC will also come in the form of more gestures, cosmetic items unrelated to gameplay, face paints, and special stamps that can be used in chat.
Below you can check out the screenshots that came with the announcement. If you want to see more about the game, you can also watch a funny commercial by Sony starring Densha Otoko star Takayuki Yamada, more recent gameplay from a few days ago, and more from Capcom TV, also showing Poogie in action. We also recently learned that the Rathalos Edition PS4 Pro will launch both in North America and Europe day and date with the game.
Monster Hunter World will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 26th and for PC this fall.
