The Monster Hunter World effect is still active on the game’s third week on the shelves, with 159,613 units sold, which push the local grand total to 1,750,969 units. Dynasty Warriors 9 and Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet also debuted with solid numbers, contributing to a rather rare top-3 focused on PS4 games.
In other Monster Hunter World news, we also learned from Capcom that the game shipped over six million units worldwide and already passed the publisher’s target for the full fiscal year over a month ahead of its end on March 31st.
The PS4 itself has another strong week, with 71,306 units sold, bringing the platform to over 6.4 million units that found a loving Japanese house (6,401,139, to be precise).
On the Nintendo side, nothing is stopping the Splatoon 2 train, with a solid fourth place that finally brings the game over two million units sold on the local market. Switch hardware sales remained flat week-on-week, above 40,000.
Shadow of the Colossus and Dragon’s Crown Pro debuted with average numbers, which aren’t too surprising considering that Japanese gamers usually aren’t too crazy about remasters and remakes. Especially Dragon’s Crown Pro doesn’t really offer much besides a bump in resolution, and its launch numbers probably reflect that.
