If you’d like to see more of the upcoming Monster Hunter mainline game Monster Hunter World, you’ve come to the right place.
First of all, Capcom released a batch of screenshots and videos. The screenshots showcase the gathering area that can be found in the hub city of Astrea. Here you can meet people and hang out, grab quests at the dedicated counter, take advantage of the game’s matchmaking (by player attitude, quest you want to play, hunter rank, and language), and enjoy the fighting arena, where you’ll fight monsters using set weapons and equipment.
There is also a private setting for matchmaking in order to play with friends, and the ability to form “circles” of up to 50 people. Those will have a meeting area and social features like messaging.
On top of the screenshots, we also get a series of brief videos featuring some of the currently announced monsters and the Ancient Forest area.
But that’s not all. YouTube user Arekkz also posted another batch of videos recorded at Capcom’s headquarters in Osaka, featuring a tour of the hub city Astrea, a look at the botanical research center that lets you grow various common items, and one at some of the palico armors that we’ll be able to craft in the game.
You can check everything out below. If you want to see more yu can also check out some recent gameplay, the trailer that revealed the Rotten Vale area, the reveal of the crossover with Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn, my own recording of a quest I played at Tokyo Game Show, more stage shows from Capcom featuring character creation and a lot more, and the charming PS4 Pro “Rathalos Edition.” On top of all the goodies, you should also read our recent hands-on preview.
Capcom itself also recently shared more information about its expectations for the game.
The game will release worldwide on January 26th, for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC version coming at a later date.
