Monster Hunter Rise is one of Nintendo’s marquee Q1 releases this year. The Capcom developed title currently has a brilliant demo on the eShop ahead of its release in March. Now, as the demo starts to wind down, Nintendo has revealed something to keep the hype levels high.
First shown on Nintendo Japan’s official Twitter account is a stunning limited edition Monster Hunter Rise Switch console. The console comes complete with a special dock, pair of Joy-Con and handheld unit as well as a pre-installed copy of the full Monster Hunter Rise game.

The handheld unit of the console and Joy-Cons both come emblazoned with the familiar Monster Hunter symbols and iconology. The dock is where the system really shines, however. It has the Magai Magado, the main monster from the upcoming game, printed on the front in a striking gold colour.
Alongside the special console, Nintendo has confirmed a limited edition Monster Hunter Rise Pro Controller. Like the dock, the controller has the Magai Magado emblazoned in gold on the front. You can check out the gallery of both the console and controller below.
Both the console and controller will be available from March 26, 2021, the day the game releases. They will cost 38,400 yen (approx $370/£270) and 7,480 (approx $72/£52) yen respectively. So far, however, the console and controller have only been revealed by the Japanese Nintendo Twitter accounts. It’s unclear as of yet whether Nintendo plans to release the console in the West.
Monster Hunter Rise’s ongoing demo was praised for its improvements on the Monster Hunter formula. Unfortunately, however, the game suffered a variety of issues related to online play. These issues pertained to the number of friends player’s accounts contained, something Capcom has promised will be fixed by the time the game launches.
Monster Hunter Rise will be available for Nintendo Switch on March 26, alongside the console, controller and a trio of special Amiibo.
