Inti Creates released Gal*Gun 2 in North America today. To celebrate its launch, the developer has brought some new DLC and content updates to Mighty Gunvolt Burst and Gal*Gunvolt Burst “identical twin” platformers for Nintendo Switch and PS4, respectively.
Mighty Gunvolt Burst for Nintendo Switch is receiving update 1.4 and a new DLC character. This character is Tenzou, the protagonist of the first Gal*Gun, marking his first appearance in a western release. He uses his Blast Goggles to fire power “Pheromone Shot” beams to attack his enemies, and is assisted during traversal by angels Patako and Ekoro. - Usable save slots have been increased from 8 to 40. New save slots can be accessed by changing pages on the file select screen.
- For the various effects and actions affected by the current Burst Combo, they will now change according to the following
- Lv. 1: 0
- Lv. 2: 1-4
- Lv. 3: 5-9
- Lv. 4: 10-19
- Lv. 5: 20-29
- Lv. 6: 30+
- The power of Gunvolt’s “Voltaic Chains” ability has been increased. At Lv. 1, it will now surpass the power of “Luxcalibur.”
- The power of the charge attack on Copen’s “Brave Horn” EX Weapon has been increased.
- Ray and Copen are now able to acquire the following rare item (treasure): P-PS MIAPLACIDUS (Module which allows the use of Stationary Firing)
- The following issues have been fixed:
- In some cases, destroying enemy bullets would incorrectly score points
- An incorrect edit item was present under Beck’s Mine bullet type
- Various other issues have been fixed to improve game experience.
As for Gal*Gunvolt Burst on PS4, the content update is smaller, adding some new languages to the game and fixing some other bugs. That being said, three new DLC characters have been added to the game as part of the Heroines DLC Character Pack for $4.99.
These three characters are Call from Mighty No. 9, Joule for the Azure Striker Gunvolt series, and Tenzou from the original Gal*Gun. Below, you can see the short list of patch notes:
