Courtesy of Game Informer, we get the chance to see seven minutes of new Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order gameplay. The video shows footage from the first two chapters of the game as well as a new mode called Infinity Trials. You can check out the video for yourself down below.
The gameplay begins with the player taking control of the Guardians of the Galaxy in a fight against Nebula. From there, we move over to Earth where we can see a multitude of Avengers coming together for the first time in-game alongside Nick Fury. Finally, we get some footage of the previously mentioned mode, Infinity Trials, which has players take on different challenges to gain experience points.
The commentators talk a little bit about combat mechanics and the game’s camera. By default, the game will allow players to see damage counters as they hit enemies. Thankfully, you’ll be able to turn this off if you prefer a less hectic user interface. The in-game camera will also allow you a close-up view if you’re playing by yourself. However, when playing the game with multiple players, it will zoom out so everyone can clearly see their characters.
Speaking of cooperative play, Team Ninja has added an emote system which will allow for communication without the infamous Nintendo Voice Chat. Players will also be able to receive bonuses based on the characters they group together in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.
A few days ago, we learned that both Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel will be playable characters. Leading up to the game’s release date, we’ll likely learn about more new heroes and villains.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch on July 19.
