Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games revealed the release date for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan via a new trailer. The game will launch on August 30 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Man of Medan is a horror game described as a compelling narrative experience where every choice matters. The player is part of a group of friends on a boat trip, diving to explore a ship’s wreckage, only to end up face-to-face with supernatural hijinks.
Man of Medan is the first of a series of horror narrative games scheduled to release at a rate of two entries a year. Moreover, Man of Medan and the series it’s part of, is a spiritual successor to Until Dawn, also developed by Supermassive Games. Both inspire themselves from classic horror movies, giving them a new spin through the choices mechanic.
Lastly, Man of Medan basically has pre-order only DLC content, titled The Curator’s Cut. It adds the possibility to play through the perspective of new characters, more choices, more secrets, and more endings. All of this can be accessed after clearing the game once. The Curator’s Cut will be made available for everyone else at a later date.
Man of Medan was first revealed in 2018. The previous trailer was more traditional and showed more scenes and various characters. The new trailer, which cinematically introduces the choice mechanic, is included below.
