During a Nintendo Direct earlier this year, we learned that Nintendo was remastering Gamecube launch title Luigi’s Mansion for Nintendo 3DS and that it would arrive sometime this year. Nintendo finally revealed more about this port today and announced that it will be launch for 3DS on October 12.
For the most part, Luigi’s Mansion for 3DS is exactly the same as the Gamecube version of the game, only featuring some slight graphical tweaks to fit the system better. The game’s graphics have been slightly reworked to look better on 3DS, and a map has been added to the bottom screen, which should make it easier for players to navigate the labyrinthine mansion.
The biggest new inclusion would have to Gallery Battle Mode. This functions as a boss rush where players can fight the various quirky ghosts they run into throughout the game again to get a high score. Luigi’s Mansion is a fairly short game, so this mode will likely be what players return to the game for.
You can check out two new screenshots for the 3DS version below. Luigi’s Mansion will be available for 3DS on October 12, and you can already pre-order it on Amazon.
