Little Town Hero, a new Gamefreak IP which released on October 16th of last year, is getting a physical release thanks to publisher NIS America. The Big Idea Edition is slated for a Spring 2020 launch and will come with an artbook, poster, lapel pin set, official soundtrack, and collector’s box. The set is available for preorder on the official NISA online store and it’ll cost you $49.99 to net this limited run edition:
You can check out one hour of gameplay of the title here if you’re still on the fence. When beginning a battle, the hero thinks of an Idea. But when that Idea has not manifested into Action, it’s known as an “Izzat.” By using Power, a limited per-turn resource, he can turn that Izzat into Action, called a “Dazzit.” The core component of combat against an enemy is to pit two attacking Dazzits against each other.
Each one has both an attack and defense value and when one of them has superior stats, they Break the other Dazzit. When all Dazzits are expended between both fighters, the round ends and a new one begins. The goal, then, of each round is to All Break all the opponent’s Dazzits without running out of Dazzits yourself. By accomplishing this, you give yourself a Chance Turn, which allows you to attack a foe’s Body instead of their Dazzit. If you take out all the foe’s hearts through Body attacks, you win the battle.
Of course being a full hour there’s way more to the footage, so it’s absolutely worth a look at if you happen to be curious about Little Town Hero. And Undertale fans will probably enjoy the soundtrack co-composed by its creator Toby Fox.
According to the official page, the main synopsis is such:
The story is set in an isolated village on the edge of the world. The only gate leading outside is heavily guarded by a castle, and the villagers are not allowed to leave. Most of the villagers don’t give it a thought, and happily go on with their everyday lives. However, the protagonist is a little different from the others — he wants to see the world outside.
One day, a “Monster” appears in the village, shocking everyone because until then, no one knew such creatures existed. The protagonist is able to fight it using a mysterious Red stone he found in the coalmines. In the course of his defense of the village, he gradually unravels secrets of how the stones and the monsters came to be.
