Earlier this year, Harvest Moon and Birthdays: The Beginning creator Yasuhiro Wada announced Little Dragon’s Café, which has players running a restaurant and raising a dragon, all with a storybook aesthetic. While we have seen gameplay before, Aksys Games released the first official trailer for the game today, which shows several different aspects of the adventure.
For those of who don’t know, Little Dragon’s Café follows the story of two kids who run a café with their mother. When she becomes ill, an old man appears and gives the kids a dragon egg, which he says will help cure their mother. After the egg hatches, Little Dragon’s Café has players juggle running a café and managing three weird employees with raising a rambunctious dragon.
This trailer gives us a nicer look at the gameplay involved with these things. When cooking, players seem to do a little minigame, though there are other managing elements to running the café. Outside of this, players can explore the environment for food and ingredients, and even enlist the help of their dragon, which can fit into tiny places when smaller, but can actually be ridden when it grows.
You can check out the game’s first trailer below. Little Dragon’s Café will release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch sometime this Summer. You can also pre-order the game on Amazon, which displays a release date of August 24, though it is unclear at this time if this is just a placeholder.
