A Twitter campaign is ongoing to celebrate the site’s launch. Twitter users who RT this till June 16 have a chance to win Amazon gift money.
The site and the game’s official Twitter account revealed brand new info as well. First off, we have the original characters appearing in Fantasia Re:Build.
This is Ende, the main heroine of Fantasia Re:build. In battle, she transforms into another appearance, seen right. Ende was designed by Kurone Mishima, the original character designer of Konosuba.
Then we have these two masked female characters, They were designed by Ninomotonino, the original character designer of Assassins’ Pride. Nothing else was revealed about them for now. We don’t know whether they are allies or enemies.
Fantasia Re:build‘s story and world building will be written by Koushi Tachibana, the author of Date a Live. Ebikawa Kanetake, who did the mecha design in Full Metal Panic, is also credited as designer of the battleship above, the Auriculaire (Auricular in french). Other scenarists on the game include Sekina Aoi (Gamers, Seitokai no Ichizon), Ichiei Ishibumi (High School DxD), and Taro Hitsuji (Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor). The official site teases more artists and authors.
Fantasia Re:build is a free-to-play with micro transactions, meaning it should have a gacha system. The game has dialogues scenes presented in a visual novel like way, and turn-based battles. The official Twitter also mentioned “Fantasia Re:build has enemy characters as charismatic as the playable characters” teasing that villains from the various crossover series will make an apparition.
In battle, characters can also use ultimate moves. See above Date a Live‘s Tohka using Sandalphon and Yoshino using Zadkiel.
Characters strike a pose after their ultimate attack. Overall, it feels pretty similar to Super Robot Wars.
The series included in Fantasia Re:build revealed so far are:
- Slayers
- Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend
- Sky Wizards Academy
- Chrome Shelled Regios
- Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon
- The Legend of the Legendary Heroes
- Tokyo Ravens
- Chaika – The Coffin Princess
- Date A Live
- High School DxD
- Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor
- Gamers!
“And more” is teased on the official site. It’s safe to assume every light novel license owned by Fantasia Bunko will appear in the game at some point. I’m expecting to see every novel who got an anime to be in. We could see Amagi Brilliant Park, Record of Grancrest War, Qualidea Code, The Weathering Continent, Maburaho, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, Scrapped Princess, The Ambition of Oda Nobuna, etc.
A new character appearing in Fantasia Re:build is revealed on the official Twitter every Mondays and Fridays. Over 27 characters were revealed so far, as multiple characters from each novel appear in the game. You can find further below illustrations for some of the characters revealed so far. There are portrait illustrations used during dialogues, and SD illustrations used during battles. All illustrations are still under development and will be “brushed up” in the final game.
Fantasia Re:Build will launch in 2020 on Apple Store, Google Play, and PC via DMM Games.
Fantasia Re:build was first announced back in October 2018. O=It will be the first anime light novels crossover game in years. It follows games such as Heroes Phantasia on PSP released in 2012, Super Heroine Chronicle on PS Vita and PlayStation 3 in 2014, and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax in 2015.
