Today, Nippon Ichi Software revealed a new trailer for Lapis Re Labyrinth, titled Lapis x Labyrinth in the west, its upcoming side-scrolling 2D action RPG.
The trailer shows how dungeon explorations go in the game. Before your adventure, you must create your “Dango”, 4 characters piled together, something reminiscent of the tower systems in Disgaea. There are eight classes to choose from, and each class has a different skill depending on their position in the Dango.
Dungeons are organized on multiple floors, and you can either explore them fully to get as many treasures as possible or quickly go through floors, to reach higher difficulty floors with higher rewards. Staying too long on the same floor will also trigger the appearance of invincible enemies, getting caught by these will automatically result in the failure of your exploration.
There’s also the Fever gauge which activates the Fever mode when full. It makes you invincible and gives you Fever Gifts, items that can upgrade your characters’ stats, right away in the dungeon.

Lapis x Labyrinth launches in Japan for PS4 and Switch on November 29th. The game’s western release has already been decided, with no precise date yet.
