WWE 2K18 is set to release this year for every major console platform. The WWE Universe will get the chance to play as their favorite WWE Superstars of all-time. Wrestlers from every era will be making an appearance including WWE Legend, Kurt Angle.
At a pre-SummerSlam WWE 2K18 event, DualShockers’ Co-Founder Al Zamora was lucky enough to speak to the Wrestling Machine about his inclusion in the game, and the evolution of the WWE 2K franchise. Angle stated that he was not expecting to be the pre-order bonus for this year’s WWE 2K entry, and how 2K Games always “outdo” themselves on every release.
Additionally, Angle discusses his battle with addiction, playing as the two versions of himself in WWE 2K18, and advice he gives to his younger colleagues in the WWE.
Kurt Angle is a wrestling legend who began his career in the WWE almost twenty year ago. The Olympic gold medalist has garnered plenty of championships throughout his career with the WWE Heavyweight Championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship, and WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. His finishing moves include the Angle Lock, the Angle Slam, and the Crossface Chickenwing.
Last year, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside Teddy Long, Diamond Dallas Page, Beth Phoenix, and the “Ravishing” Rick Rude. Angle is currently the WWE Raw’s General Manager, and is regularly on the Monday night wrestling program. Recently in a story line on Raw, it was revealed that former NXT Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan was Angle’s son.
WWE 2K18 will bring the WWE universe to the squared circle on October 17 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Nintendo Switch version is slated to release sometime in Fall 2017. Players who pre-order the game will receive two playable versions of Kurt Angle which include “The Wrestling Machine” and “The Olympic Hero.” Oh, it’s true. It’s damn true!
