After being initially unveiled last month, THQ Nordic today finally gave us our first official look at Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning today.
Revealed via a new trailer, THQ Nordic formally announced Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning this morning along with the first official details of the project. Unfortunately, the trailer is solely of the CGI variety, which means there is no new gameplay from the remaster to be seen. That said, you would imagine we’ll be seeing more of the game in action pretty soon.
Perhaps most notably, a new release date for Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning was announced today, too. Initially thought to be launching in August, THQ Nordic revealed today that the game will instead release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in a little over two months on September 8. Additionally, the game will retail for $39.99 with the Fate Edition being priced at $54.99.
So what comes in this Fate Edition of Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning you might ask? Well, in what is perhaps the wildest part of today’s announcement, THQ Nordic has unveiled that all-new content is slated to release for the game in 2021. A new expansion titled Fatesworn is set to land on all platforms next year and will be included as part of the Fate Edition of the game. As of now, THQ Nordic hasn’t said what Fatesworn will involve, but the fact that we’re getting new DLC for a title that launched all the way back in 2012 is pretty wild.
If you want to check out the aforementioned trailer, you can view it up above. Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we should be learning a whole lot more about Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning over that time.
