By now, it is common knowledge among game developers that adding a photo mode to your game is a boon to the community. Whether it is memes, capturing bugs, or uncovering hidden gems that the developers placed in the game, there is no downside. And that all can be said about the Kingdom Hearts 3 Reddit community, that is having a blast with the in-game photo capture tools.
For those of you who haven’t picked up Kingdom Hearts 3, Sora is given a Gummiphone fairly early on that has the ability to capture images and selfies. While some people use this for its intended purpose — uncovering Lucky Emblems and taking photos of the scenery — others are having more fun with it.
One common theme is having Sora really take notice of all the Disney princesses… assets. Note how close Sora is getting to the extra-curvy Hercules heroine, Meg:
[KH3] A followup to yesterdays “I don’t think this is what they intended” from r/KingdomHearts
Or, perhaps, her other side:
Pretty sure this is what they had in mind when they added photo mode. from r/KingdomHearts
But the Photo Mode can capture so much more than curvy Greek women. It can also capture T-posed shaped Greek men!
Or showcasing the assets of non-Hercules based characters:
I guess you could say he had his ass handed to him from r/KingdomHearts
Obviously, T-posing is a known bug present in many games. However, some other bugs can be found within Mount Olympus. For instance… what happens when Hercules manages to skip leg day:
Stepping away from the bugs and errors, some people make some jokes that are more canon for the Disney universe. Take Reddit user Dreaming-Monk, who leaned in real hard to this occuring Monsters Inc. and Monsters University gag:
I cant beleive I get to play with the guys at monsters inc.! from r/KingdomHearts
Or perhaps Redditor Madiigascar who managed to find himself in Kingdom Hearts 3, and gloated about his photo with Sora:
All in all, there is a ton of fun to be had in Kingdom Hearts 3‘s photo mode, whether that fun was designed or not. And outside of that mode, the much-anticipated title is remarkable recently scoring a 9.0 out of 10 in our (spoiler-free) review.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is available now on PS4 and Xbox One. Anyone looking to grab the game to make photos all their own can pick it up on Amazon.
