The upcoming Demon Slayer PS4 game, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppuutan, is currently developed by CyberConnect 2. We learned that via the Kimetsu no Yaiba news section of the Aniplex 48 hours special stream held on Abema TV from March 21 -22. Screenshots for the game and a trailer were shared, you can find them further below.
This was to be expected since as we mentioned in our previous story, CyberConnect 2 recently teased they’re working on multiple unannounced games, one of which was “adapted from a manga”. Seeing the studio’s track record especially with Naruto games, there was a very high chance this game would turn out to be Kimetsu no Yaiba. Especially since the Kimetsu manga has been breaking all records and is the big new, worldwide popular shonen manga of the moment.
CyberConnect 2 handing Kimetsu no Yaiba PS4 means the game will definitely be beautiful all around and satisfy the fans when it comes to visuals, which are pretty close to anime. You can judge for yourself with the screenshots below. Now we need to wait and see how the gameplay will fare. The game is described as a “demon-slaying action game”, and the trailer’s footage doesn’t make us learn that much more.
Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan‘s official site is accessible here. The game is scheduled to launch sometime in 2021. It wasn’t announced outside Japan yet but it’ll definitely come over.
Update: The official upload for the trailer is region-locked to Japan, so a reupload is included below. A short, comments less development diary video was also shared.
