Straight out of EVO Japan, Tekken fans will have the chance to go hands-on with not one, but two DLC characters on February 28. Tekken veteran Julia Chang will join the roster as well as Negan from AMC’s The Walking Dead. You can check out a pretty in-depth trailer showing the two characters below.
Who would’ve thought we’d ever get the chance to see a video game where Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis, Street Fighter’s Akuma, Fatal Fury’s Geese Howard, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan battle it out. You really can’t make this stuff up. Based on the trailer it looks as though the development team and Morgan had a ton of fun bringing Negan to life in Tekken 7. While I’m not super invested in the AMC Walking Dead series at all, Morgan definitely brings a unique sensibility to the iconic comic book character of the same name. I won’t spoil what happens in the trailer but it’s definitely worth checking out.
Julia on the other hand first made her appearance in Tekken 3. Her appearance has been altered quite drastically throughout the years. While her appearance has changed her overall personality seems to be intact. She looks like a lot of fun to play but we won’t see how popular she becomes until the Tekken community can use her in-game.
Tekken 7 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you already own the game’s second season pass, you can expect to play the characters as soon as they launch. As with all DLC fighters though, they can be purchased separately.
