Today Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia released a new “concept movie” for the PS4.
The trailer is a sequence of looks at young kids, high school students returning from club activities, parents, families, and friends as they have fun with the PS4 and their games.
Interestingly, it’s not too dissimilar from what you would expect from a Nintendo ad, even if the slightly nostalgic song creates a somewhat different feel. It’s difficult to put my finger in where the difference exactly is, but it’s easily felt.
Of course, we see plenty of gameplay from different titles, including the recently released Gran Turismo Sport, and the upcoming Monster Hunter World. Another game shown with prominence is Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which isn’t surprising, considering that Crash is very popular in Japan. Knack 2 is also showcased, alongside Sonic Forces and more.
Funnily, the ad must have been in the works for quite some time, as the PlayStation VR unit showcased is still an original CUH-ZVR1, and not the new CUH-ZVR2 that enjoyed a rather solid debut in Japan last week.
You can check out the trailer for yourself below, and see if it makes you want to play some games.
