Yuri otaku survival game Jinrui no Minasama e got tons of new details through a new trailer with gameplay, and the game’s director answering fans on Twitter. Here’s everything we learned.
About how far into yuri territory the game goes, the producer said it’s more yuri than Kin-iro Mosaic, but less yuri than Citrus. I don’t know much about Kinmoza besides that’s it’s a typical and tame yuri story. Citrus, however, is infamous for being pretty borderline. Citrus is a yuri love story between two stepsisters, Yuzu and Mei. Very early on, there’s a scene with Mei pinning Yuzu down and forcefully kissing her.
Despite its overblown drama filled early arcs, Citrus gets a billion times better at some point and is worth reading. Sadly the anime adaptation from 2018 stopped right at that point. Anyway, basically, the girls in Jinrui no Minasama e get touchy with each other, but you shouldn’t expect them to suddenly start making out.
Despite the post-apocalyptic setting, according to the producer, Jinrui no Minasama e “isn’t a depressing game. At least it shouldn’t be depressing”. There’s no story twist where it turns out to be a horror game either.
Jinrui no Minasama e is launching on PS4 and Switch because those are the platforms Nippon Ichi Software and Acquire decided on when considering the budget, their goals, and the market. They wanted to release the game on more platforms, but it’d be a too high risk seeing it’s a new IP with niche themes.
The producer’s recommended coupling are Erina Kashi (game otaku girl) X Yuyuko Oura (literature girl), and Kyouka Shintou (protagonist) X Isana Shouni (cooking specialist girl). We’ve already detailed all the girls if you wanna learn more. All of the girls can be paired with each other, for 15 different couplings in total if you buy DLC only girl Shuuka.
The only character players get to control directly is Kyouka Shintou.
Jinrui no Minasama e isn’t an RPG. Despite things like the hunger system, it’s not like any of the girls can die either. According to the producer “the player’s heart can die from all the yuri though”.

The game is set in Akihabara because it’s an iconic town for game and anime otaku. There’s also how Acquire is based in Akihabara, making it easy for them to recreate it. They’re used to Akiba as they developed the Akiba’s Trip series too. And it’s an easy to navigate town, perfect for game design. Early on, they hesitated a lot between Akiba and Ikebukuro, and ended up deciding on Akiba.
According to the producer, if Jinrui no Minasama e sells well, a sequel might be developed. And of course, it’ll only have girl characters again. Personally speaking, I think more producers should realize a good yuri story doesn’t necessarily mean no men. Stories like Nights of Azure 1 demonstrate this pretty well.

The DLC adding Shuuka Suhaaya is scheduled to launch at the same time as the game on June 27. Shuuka will cost 500 yen. Buying her will unlock all the couplings with her, new story elements and a different ending.

Jinrui no Minasama e launches on PS4 and Switch on June 27 in Japan. The game wasn’t announced in the west.
