miHoYo has announced Genshin Impact is coming to Epic Games Store on June 9, but will it be cross platform – can you play with PC, PS4, PS5 and Mobile players, and can you transfer your accounts?
Genshin Impact will be joining Epic Games Store with its Version 1.6 update, Midsummer Island Adventure. A special code redeemable starting June 8 was also revealed for the occasion.

Is Genshin Impact Cross Platform, Cross Play on Epic Games Store?
If you’re discovering miHoYo’s JRPG through its Epic Games Store release, Genshin Impact has an online co-op mode, where you can explore the open world or defeat bosses with your friends. Up to four players can join the same world simultaneously.
miHoYo confirmed through a press release that Genshin Impact players on Epic Games Store will be able to play in online co-op mode with everyone else: on PS4, PS5, mobile, and PC players.
Moreover, the Epic Games Store version of Genshin Impact is cross save: players who already explored Teyvat on Mobile or with the miHoYo launcher can connect to the same account via Epic Games Store. Conversely, you can start playing Genshin Impact on EGS, and then keep playing on the same account on Mobile, for example.

Which versions of Genshin Impact are cross save?
As of now, the only version of Genshin Impact that does not support cross save is the PS4 and PS5 version. If you start a Genshin Impact account using your PSN account, that account is stuck on PS4 and PS5. You won’t be able to play on PC or mobile with the same account as on PS4/PS5. However, everyone can still play together.

Genshin Impact – Is the Switch version going to be cross save?
Lastly, it’s unclear for now if the Switch version of Genshin Impact will support cross save. miHoYo did not say anything on the matter yet. Personally speaking, I think it’s very likely it will support cross save, as Nintendo seems overall less reluctant to enable cross save compared to Sony.
Genshin Impact 1.6 will add skins for Jean and Barbara, a boat piloting event, and islands to explore, among other details. The Epic Games Store page for Genshin Impact is also live ahead of release.
