The good folks at King Art Games have been experimenting with motion capture for their upcoming alternate-history RTS Iron Harvest, and that’s exactly what the video released today is all about.
We get to see models for soldiers and the game’s lovely WWI-ish steampunk mecha as they move around, dab, and dance, powered by the camera-less motion capture rig by Xsens. According to the announcement, developers were quite impressed by the capabilities of the equipment, and there is a “good chance” that it will be used to create the game’s cutscenes.
For those unfamiliar, Iron Harvest is set in the alternate-history post WWI world by Polish artist Jakub Różalski, in which nations have developed mechanized walkers that are being used as frontline armored units alongside traditional infantry.
It will come with three factions, the Polania Republic, the Rusviet and the Saxony Empire, and all three will be playable in their own campaign within an overarching story (pretty much like in the original Starcraft).
The game was announced roughly a year ago, and if you want to see more, you can enjoy the first trailer.
Iron Harvest is scheduled to be released in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In the meanwhile, you can enjoy the new video below.
