In news that will warm the heart of every 90s kid, Humongous Entertainment has teased that they will be releasing their classic educational games on consoles at some point in 2019. Details are scarce, but the developer has promised on Twitter that we will be getting news “soon”.
Fans of the developer know that the Humongous name has changed hands quite a bit since the mid-2000s. Most recently, the name was sold to Tommo after Atari, SA went bankrupt. Under Tommo, the team has been porting most of the back catalog to PC and mobile.
Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish, Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, and Fatty Bear are available for you to play through if you have a computer or smartphone. However, Humongous isn’t going to stop there. As mentioned, details are still scarce as to what’s coming, but the picture Humongous shared has Freddi Fish, Pajama Sam, Putt-Putt, and Spy Fox on it. Presumedly, those four will be included in the upcoming release.
Unfortunately, Backyard Sports, the big series Humongous doesn’t own, is probably not going to be included. When Tommo purchased the Humongous catalog, they did not purchase Backyard Sports. That said, the team did give fans a sliver of hope with a recent tweet you can see below.

Junior Sports is the original name of the Backyard Sports line. This could be a tease of the Backyard Sports games finally joining the other Humongous games on all platforms. Something that would make this 90s kid ecstatic.
Either way, fans should stay on the lookout for more news. Until then, I’ll be busy dreaming up Putt-Putt‘s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate moveset.
The Humongous Entertainment games are coming to consoles at some point in 2019. They are also available on Android, iOS, and PC.
