Hitman 3 is just a few weeks away from us and it’s probably the best time for IO Interactive to share new trailers from the game and raise the hype for the final episode of The World of Assassination trilogy. Today, the Danish devs released a gameplay trailer for Hitman 3 VR, showcasing how the gameplay mechanics will work when you are watching the world from Agent 47’s perspective.
As the narration of the trailer mentions, the Hitman series has never been experienced in this way before. The trailer shows off some of the shooting mechanics and stealth actions that can be done in the game. While the enemy AI doesn’t feel smart enough in the trailer, it looks very interesting to be able to perform your creative, silent plans of taking down the targets in a first-person view.
The good news is all the missions from The World of Assassination from Hitman 2016 to Hitman 3 will be available in the VR version, which turns this VR title into a rich content experience.
Aside from revealing the VR gameplay, the new trailer also unveiled the game’s deluxe version that includes some in-game costumes for Agent 47, a digital book for the world of Hitman, the digital soundtrack of the game, and director commentary mission introduction.
IO Interactive recently confirmed that after Hitman 3 they won’t work on a new entry from the series for a while. Currently, the studio’s biggest project after Hitman 3 is Project 007, which is supposed to depict the origin of James Bond as an MI6 agent. Even after that, IO Interactive might still consider working on more new IPs rather than coming back to the Hitman franchise. That said, they are not going to leave Agent 47’s adventure forever.
Hitman 3 will be available on January 20 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC through Epic Games Store. The VR version of the game will only available on PSVR.
