Nintendo held its first Direct presentation in 18 months on February 17, and we weren’t disappointed with what they had to show. Nintendo finished their Direct by announcing Splatoon 3, coming to the Switch in 2022. If like me, you left the Nintendo Direct conference with the burning desire to know more about the Splatoon 3 hairstyles, then you’ve come to the right place.
What Is Splatoon?
Splatoon is a family-friendly third-person shooter published by Nintendo. The original Splatoon was first revealed at E3 2014 and is known for its bright colours, chaotic modes and family-friendly gameplay. The game does feature a single-player story but is focused more on online multiplayer battles.
After the success of Splatoon, Nintendo released Splatoon 2 in 2017. The sequel proved to be a massive success, selling over twice as many units as the original Splatoon. The original Splatoon sold 4.95 million units on the Wii U, whilst Splatoon 2 has sold 11.9 million units on the Nintendo Switch. With such a big hype around the Splatoon series, could Splatoon 3 look to be just as successful as its predecessors?
All Of The Confirmed Splatoon 3 Hairstyles
You can view all of the hairstyles that were featured in the Splatoon 3 announcement trailer below. It is important to note that these aren’t all of the hairstyles that will be available in the final game, there were other styles yet to be shown.
ShackNews first reported on the possibility that all of the customisation options are gender-neutral. An eagle-eyed viewer of the Nintendo Direct pointed out the lack of “boy or girl” options. In previous Splatoon titles, all customisation options required players to select between the two genders. It looks as though Nintendo may have gone for a gender-neutral format for the next instalment. The change is sure to be welcomed by many fans that would rather not be locked into specific genders whilst they play.
Style 1. A longer hairstyle that features a plait on one side.
Style 2. Classic pony-tail.
Style 3. Longer style hair with bangs.
Style 4. Those that let their parents give them a classic bowl cut when they were younger will recognise this one.
Style 5. The tied-back braids style will likely be one of the most popular hairstyles in Splatoon 3.
Style 6. A shorter hairstyle with a wavey effect, featuring a little fringe!
When Will Splatoon 3 Release?
Splatoon 3 is currently set for 2022. No exact date was set for the game, but DualShockers took a stab at guessing the release date anyway!
