The Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) has determined its last stop of the current season. From April 25, 2019, to April 28, 2019, the best Hearthstone players will compete in Taipei to compete for the 2018 HCT World Championship title.
One of 16 players will compete in the championships to earn some cash from its $1 million prize pool. More details about the event, as well as who will be competing will be announced at a later date.
You may be asking yourself, “how do players get chosen to compete in the HCT World Championship?” For the past year, pro-Hearthstone players have been competing in Tour Stops, Playoff events and Seasonal Championships to garner points; the 16 players who have the most points will be picked to compete in Taipei.
The announcement was made at the 2018 Hearthstone All-Star Invitational which was also held in Taipei. There, Wu “BloodTrail” Zong Chang triumphed over previous HCT World Champion, Chen “tom60229” Wei Lin taking home the $20,000 cash prize.
In other Hearthstone related news, former Blizzard developers, including the Hearthstone‘s previous director Ben Brode, revealed they have partnered with Marvel to create a new game.
If you want to see if you have what it takes to be a pro-Hearthstone player, you can play the game right now on PC and mobile devices.
