Are you gearing up for the PC and PlayStation Vita release of Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms? Developer Idea Factor has released their latest pack of screenshots (in their growing series) to highlight some of the bachelors available for the pickings.
Seen in the gallery below, the two men in the spotlight are Kazue Souma and Ryouma Sakamoto. The brown-haired Kazue hails from the Choshu Domain and has a notably thoughtful and solemn personality. Just like most other characters in Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms, Kazue is incredibly protective of the female protagonist/senpai Chizuru — even with a notable string of defeats.
Meanwhile the devilish, long-haired Ryouma Sakamoto comes instead from the rural Tosa region of Japan. Unlike the more isolationist Eastern attitudes of other characters in Edo Blossoms, Ryouma has a penchant for Western flair. This even boils down to his weapon of choice: the pistol.
But why are we describing these men, and how does it fit into the game? Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms — much like its predecessor — is an otome visual novel focusing on 19th century Japan. The returning protagonist Chizuru is looking for her missing father amidst a backdrop of Imperial Nationalism and impending change in Japan.
We loved the game’s predecessor, Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds — awarding the game an 8.5 out of 10 and noting it is “the definitive version of the story.” Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms was only revealed to come West in mid-January, launching simultaneously with PlayStation Vita and PC.
As mentioned above, Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms launches on PlayStation Vita (US) and PC on March 13, 2018; meanwhile, the game comes to PlayStation Vita (EU) on March 16, 2018. Check out the screenshots below of the eligible bachelors:
