Cygames held the Granblue Fantasy Fes 2019 this weekend, on December 14-15. It’s an annual, huge event held in Japan for fans of the franchise, whose mobile RPG is among the most popular mobage in the world. During the event, Cygames shared new information on Granblue Fantasy Relink, the upcoming PS4 action RPG of the franchise, and we most notably got to see a new trailer and a new four-player multiplayer gameplay video.
The new trailer most notably reveals four new playable characters, the four knights: Lancelot, Vane, Percival, and Siegfried.
We also saw a new multiplayer video featuring these four. The video is ten minutes long, and shows the four knights on a quest, showcasing their various skills. Seeing Granblue Fantasy Relink uses a four-persons party system, this confirms we’re not forced to keep protagonists Gran or Djeeta in the party. We can also see a boss fight against an Ancient Dragon at around 4:47 in.
The end of the gameplay video also teases some of the enemy characters who will be featured in Granblue Fantasy Relink. It’s unclear for now if they’ll eventually end up playable or not.
New versions of some of Granblue Fantasy Relink‘s old trailers and gameplay videos were also published by Cygames, in order to show how the engine improved since then. The new trailer and the multiplayer gameplay video are included at the end of this article.
Cygames also published multiple new screenshots, they can be found below. You can read more on the game with our past coverage here and here.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is coming to PS4 someday. No release date estimate was announced during the event, though we got a new development update. We will be detailing everything in a separate article, so stay tuned. Update: You can find the article here.
