Suokou Akki Muramasa – Introduction
Soukou Akki Muramasa, also called Full Metal Daemon Muramasa, is a Nitroplus eroge and ADV (what we commonly call visual novels outside Japan) first released on October 30, 2009 (needless to say, only on PC). Often cited as a masterpiece by visual novel fans, the game mixes several themes, including dark fantasy and mecha.
Full Metal Daemon: Muramasa is the latest game written by Nitroplus scenarist Ittetsu Narahara, whose stories always feature katana and sword fights. Soukou Akki Muramasa has several fan discs or side stories but never received a console adaptation. At the Nitro Super Sonic 20th Anniversary event on October 30, 2019. Nitroplus announced a sequel to Muramasa, Project Vermilion.

Full Metal Daemon: Muramasa English Release Teased by JAST – Why fans are hyped
JAST USA shared a very short video on Twitter, hyping up all fans of Muramasa, who realized a localization is actually happening. Seeing JAST USA is the traditional English localization company for Nitroplus titles, many Muramasa fans dreamed to see this day come. In the past, JAST USA already released Deus Machina Demonbane, Saya no Uta, or SoniComi in English. Many were hoping the company would bring Full Metal Daemon Muramasa out of Japan one day, and it looks like it’s finally happening.

Full Metal Daemon Muramasa is also particular in how the game uses vertical dialogue boxes. Which means an English localization will make it look drastically different, by adding horizontal dialogue windows instead. As reading English vertically would be way more unnatural than reading Japanese and no one wants to do that.
Personally speaking, I have yet to play Muramasa yet, and I’m starting to regret I missed my chance to do so while it was still only in Japanese. To brag about it on social media and rise as a true influencer. Jokes aside, Muramasa is one of those things I’ve only ever heard praise of from those who actually played it, so I’m incredibly pumped as well. Anyways you can always hit me up on Twitter @A_iyane07 if you wish to help further my influencer plans and wish to read even more Unneeded Opinions on niche Japanese things.
