Ghostrunner, a fast-paced, first-person action game from indie developer One More Level, received a cinematic trailer on Wednesday that sets the tone for the Polish studio’s cyberpunk world. Better yet, a demo also released on Steam to give PC players the chance to start getting acquainted with its wall-running gameplay.

The demo, which is the same one that was playable at PAX East back at the end of February, will be available until March 13.

In Ghostrunner, a cataclysm has ravaged the world and wiped out most of humanity. The survivors now live in a tower where their class is defined by the category of their implants and nothing else. Resources are scarce, and the building is plagued by poverty, violence, and chaos.

Taking control as a cyber-warrior, you’re tasked with ascending the tower and revealing its secrets, using movement and quick thinking to take down any enemy or obstacle in your way.

Having played the demo at PAX, Ghostrunner takes inspiration from other titles that encourage constant movement and on-the-fly adjustments like Mirror’s Edge and Superhot. One hit kills, causing an instant reset of a given area that leads you to learn quickly from your mistakes, and ultimately help you nail that one perfect, seamless run in which there are multiple variations of.

The game was a standout at the show for myself and many others, and putting the demo on Steam should help get it on a lot more people’s radars.

Ghostrunner is planned to come out at some point this year, and will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One alongside PC.
