It has been a long time coming, but Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima is now officially ready to launch.
Announced over on the official Sucker Punch Twitter account today, the studio behind Ghost of Tsushima revealed that the upcoming action-adventure title has now gone gold. If you’re somehow, unfamiliar with what this means, essentially it indicates that the initial work on the project has now been fully wrapped up and the game can now begin being printed to discs and shipped around the globe.
Alongside the reveal, Sucker Punch also shared an image that features many members from its development team that worked on the title. Considering that many studios are around the globe still working from home in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this is seemingly the best way that the studio could highlight those who helped create Ghost of Tsushima.
We’re thrilled to announce that #GhostOfTsushima has gone GOLD! This is the culmination of years of hard work from our team and we can’t wait to get it into your hands on July 17! pic.twitter.com/nidZvlqIIk

First revealed at Paris Games Week back in 2017, Ghost of Tsushima is set to be the second game that developer Sucker Punch has released this generation, following behind Infamous: Second Son. With Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II also now officially being for sale, GoT will also prominently be one of the last major first-party titles that a Sony-owned studio will have released in the PS4 era. Hopefully, it will serve as a fantastic final release to sunset the console.
Ghost of Tsushima is set to arrive next month on July 17, exclusively for the PS4. Stay tuned as we get closer to its arrival as Sony and Sucker Punch will undoubtedly be sharing more of the game in the coming weeks.
