Genshin Impact has been one of the biggest sensations of last year, amassing a total of 40 million players by the end of 2020. The game continues to experience healthy growth over the months, and still remains to be one of the most popular games out there.
For those who have been playing the game for a while, they might be well aware of how frequently major updates drop for the game. A big update releases for the game as early as every six weeks, and that includes new characters, quests, items and much more.
The 1.4 Update was the last update released in the game, and it added the Venti banner rerun and the Rosaria character along with the Abyss Herald quest and Hangouts event. The Hangouts event was an instant hit among the fans, and was widely acclaimed by fans and critics alike.
Genshin Impact Leaks: miHoYo planning 10-year roadmap instead of 5 after massive profits
miHoYo had already revealed that an update will be releasing every six weeks, and it was being reported that they had a 5-year plan in place for the game. However, it seems like that has now turned into a 12-year plan because of the profits the developers have made from the game.
This leak comes from Arkywzx (via Wangsheng Funeral Parlor), who is quite a credible source in the Genshin Impact leaks community and has had quite a good track record so far. Considering the fact that other leakers have also suggested that miHoYo is indeed delaying some updates and stuff to maximize profits, this doesn’t seem likely to be fake.
What will be interesting to see is how miHoYo is able to generate content that will sustain the game for such a long span of time. If the leaks are indeed true, then fans might be getting tons of new content in the days to come.
