miHoYo is reportedly working on cross save for the launch of Genshin Impact Version 2.0, allowing PS4, PS5 players to log into PC and mobile with the same accounts. Moreover, the Switch version of Genshin Impact, still in development, should be cross save as well.
Right now, Genshin Impact is cross platform. As in, players on PS4 or PS5 can play online co-op mode with PC or mobile players. However, if you started playing the open world JRPG on PC or mobile, while you can play with the same account on these two platforms, you can’t do so on PS4/PS5. Inversely, if you started playing Genshin on PS4 or PS5, your account is stuck there. However, it’ll all be history with cross save.

When is cross save coming to Genshin Impact on PS4 and PS5?
According to Genshin Report: Genshin Impact will start supporting cross save between all platforms – PC, mobile, and PlayStation – starting the Version 2.0 update, coming on July 21, 2021. Moreover, the future Switch version of the game will be cross save as well. Anyone with an Hoyolab account will be able to login into the same Genshin Impact account on any platform.
In the past, previous live stream details were similarly leaked a few days before they happened. We’re less than a week away from the 2.0 livestream, so details about it are finalized internally at miHoYo, so it’s no surprise some of it has leaked. We should have an official confirmation during the Version 2.0 live stream coming on July 9.
Especially, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that miHoYo is planning to add cross save to Genshin Impact:
Cross save will also be particularly useful for streamers, as we’ll be able to play Genshin on console and use our PC to stream. We’ll hear the full details of cross save during the livestream on July 9. Genshin Impact will launch its 2.0 update on July 21, adding the Inazuma region to the game.
