Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has been tweeting a lot recently, and it seems that there is a common element between quite a few of his tweets. You may know Gearbox as the developers of the Borderlands game franchise, and a third main entry in the series has been wanted by fans for a long time.
So of course, when you see the CEO of said studio tweeting about the number three an awful lot, what other conclusion can you come to other than he’s teasing Borderlands 3?
My To Do list today has just 3 things on it. But I also have 3 meetings scheduled before 3pm. Is the universe telling me something?

In the first tweet of the trilogy (what a coincidence), Randy says the number 3 a whopping 3 times. That’s a hell of a lot of the number three. It doesn’t end there, however!
Fun fact – Today is day number 334 (number of days that have elapsed in the year). Yesterday was 333. It’s really interesting how human minds take so much meaning in arbitrary numbering systems and coincidence. People will lose their minds when the calendar flips to year 3000.

Either Randy is trolling fans, teasing fans or he is having some sort of existential crisis. I’m willing to bet it’s the third one.
Feels like E3 all over again…

In a final tweet, Pitchford notes that the speculation from his previous two tweets feels like E3 all over again – definitely realizing that the conference’s name has the damn number three inside of it. Stop this, Randy.
Unfortunately, Gearbox is reasonably unlikely to announce anything Borderlands or Brothers in Arms related by the end of the year. That being said, with The Game Awards and the Kinda Funny Showcase coming up, it is a possibility that an announcement is coming by the end of the year so these tweets are really grinding my gears. Randy, show us your damn projects!
It’s also very important to note that Randy definitely had diarrhea during this.
Fun fact: If I am on twitter during the work day, I am probably on the toilet. If there’s a lot of twitter action, it means I am having one of those days…
